Athena is a mum and grannie based in rural, central Scotland. After art college in Glasgow and working as a graphic designer, she had three children, and re-trained in horticulture and garden design. When one of her son's, Sandy, took his life in 2020 she took up art full time. Since then her work has become bolder, brighter and she definitely doesn't take herself too seriously! Athena's aim is that her work is affordable and fun for all through her cards, posters and prints. Conic Crafts in Drymen displays just some of her work. Open Studios Stirlingshire is a favourite time of year, and you can visit her studio at any other time by contacting her. She runs regular mindfulness art classes. She volunteers with The Canmore Trust in the hope that she can help others bereaved by suicide.
